Hi @ all,
ZITAT FACEBOOK-POST:
After 75000 effortless kms I had an issue, but a rather serious one last Tuesday. After pulling away at a traffic light, the bike (2012, 1 year past warranty) lost power and I heard only a heavy metal clonking noise... I suspected the drive shaft as it was right underneath me. Had to collect the bike with a trailer and then directly to my dealer. Tuesday evening, well after closing hours, they have de-assembled the bike and alas, the cross joint of the shaft drive was in bits. A quick look at the Honda retail price was a horrendous one: almost 1700 euros. A call to Honda on Wednesday brought relief: Honda is aware of problems with the drive shaft and will issue a recall for the VFR1200X. Only problem was: the new drive shafts are not available yet. There was only one "faulty model" drive shaft in stock. Since I need the bike every day the dealer and Honda came to an agreement: the broken shaft drive would be replaced by the one that was in stock at Honda and when the recall is issued, my bike will also receive a new shaft drive. This all under warranty. So it happened like this: Tuesday -> problem and de-assembly, Wednesday -> contact dealer and Honda and ordering bits, Thursday -> bits arrived, Friday -> starting to install bits and saturday bike finished. I`m immensely pleased with my dealer here in Terneuzen, who went to great lengths to get this sorted. I owe them big time! http://www.motortotaal.com if you`re ever around these parts...
